Bekah and Morgan :: Maternity Photography

Maternity sessions are special.

There is such a mix of emotions. Excitement, anticipation, love, hope but also fear and uncertainty. There is mom and dad and this unknown being that is making their presence known with each kick, roll and stretch.

With my three, I revelled in the wonder of there being a human life, separate from myself, growing within me but, if I’m honest, now that they’re here and running around, those memories seem so far away.

That’s why these sessions are so special and important.

It was easy to see with Bekah and Morgan that all those feelings are there and that this session meant something to them.

We split our time in two locations to capture photos that were truly “them” and exactly what she wanted.

First, we popped out to Ralph Klein Park to find some wide open spaces.

On our way back to the city, we found a little spot to pull over a capture a few more shots that just felt right for their “vibe.”

Bekah’s one request was a milkbath session.

If I’m being completely honest, I had never done one before but, as seems to be my way, I was game to try and she was game to be my guinea pig, so to speak.

Thanks to the wonders of those who so graciously share their ways online and some added creativity, we came up with some shots that she is in love with…and so am I.
